Working Hours

There are no strict universal lab hours as long as projects are progressing at an appropriate rate. Many lab members are present roughly between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, and new members are strongly encouraged to overlap with the group during those hours whenever practical.

Flexible working conditions can be accommodated when agreed upon with the PI, provided that all institutional, state, and federal requirements are satisfied. That flexibility is a privilege rather than a default entitlement.

Time reporting and absences

  • If you are paid hourly, log your hours digitally through MyTime.

  • Do not accrue overtime without Kevin’s explicit approval.

  • For planned absences, try to notify Kevin at least one week in advance.

  • For unplanned absences, notify Kevin immediately and alert collaborators if a meeting or time-sensitive activity is affected.

Attendance expectation

Lab members are expected to be present for recurring lab meetings unless an absence has been discussed in advance.
